The Thought Really Does Count...

For weeks, my friend Emily has been talking about a Christmas gift she was working on for me. “I’m sorry you’ll be getting it so late,” she’d say. I’d reassure her that it was totally fine (because it was).

Now here we are, more than a week into the new year, and I had almost forgotten about the gift that would be coming my way.

Em walked in this morning, and presented a beautifully framed picture.

...but is it a picture? I looked closer, and to my amazement, it was my writing!

She had saved my work notes from rounds and rounds of editing our team’s work, and cut them up into a fun collage of memories. Wow.

It was so cool to see the pen colors I used—I have a thing for purple, but the red and black editor’s pen made their bold appearance as well—and the highlighter marks that checked tasks off.

It’s the most priceless present—and it encapsulates one of the best work experiences I’ve had so far.

Cheers to the gang of three!
