DIY: paper pom-poms

Want to make a big impact at your next shin dig? Why not fill the room with paper poms? They’re quick and easy to make, but also won’t break the bank—a $1 tissue paper pack will make 2-3 poms! Talk about cost effective.

what you will need:

  • 8 sheets of tissue paper
  • Scissors
  • Bread tie or string
  • Twine or floral wire
  1. stack 8 sheets of tissue. (I used 10 here, and it may have been too much)
  2. make 1”-1-1/2” accordion folds, creasing with each fold.
  3. use your bread tie to fasten the center of your folded tissue.
  4. with scissors, trim ends of tissue into your desired shape.
  5. separate layers, pulling away from the center one at a time.
  6. tie a length of twine or floral wire for hanging.

The finished pom makes quite a statement. I’m hoping to make about a dozen more to hang throughout the house. Pictures of that to come...
